Tripura govt submits employees' data to 16th FC: Finance Minister

Tripura Finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday said that the state government has already submitted the employees’ data to the 16th Finance Commission.

He said, Tripura has formally submitted all required documentation on government employees to the 16th Finance Commission, alongside forwarding reports related to the 8th Pay Commission to the Central government.

Speaking to the media at the Civil Secretariat, the Finance minister explained that the Union government constituted a committee on November 3, 2025, under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Prakash, to examine and recommend the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. The committee has been given 18 months to prepare its report, and Tripura has already aligned its submissions with the process.

Dispelling speculation circulating on social media, the Minister stressed that Tripura has met every requirement. “All necessary documents concerning government employees have been submitted to the 16th Finance Commission. Additionally, reports on the 8th Pay Commission have been forwarded to the Centre,” he said.

Roy further noted that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has been in regular contact with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ensuring that Tripura’s concerns are represented at the national level.

The announcement comes amid heightened discussions across states about the financial impact of pay revisions and allocations, with Tripura positioning itself as proactive in safeguarding employee interests and ensuring compliance with national directives.
