Tripura govt takes initiative to honor state’s Freedom Fighters, Unsung Heroes

Agartala, July 14: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Tripura government has taken an initiative for "75 Seemanta Gram, Kranti Viro Ke Naam" programme to commemorate the Freedom Fighters and Unsung Heroes of Tripura.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the state-level programme near Indo-Bangla Maitri Setu at Sabroom in South Tripura on Friday and laid the foundation stone of a plaque to commemorate the Freedom Fighters and Unsung Heroes of Tripura in India's freedom struggle. Under this initiative, plaques will be erected in 75 border villages in all districts of the state
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the latter’s leadership has enabled the entire nation to remember the forgotten heroes who made significant contributions in the country’s freedom struggle.
"75 Seemanta Gram Kranti Veero Ke Naam" program is a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Many programs have been held in the state, and thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the entire country is now remembering the unsung heroes who were previously overlooked for their contributions. A few days ago, we conducted the 'Proti Ghore Sushasan' event, and on 15th August, we also celebrated 'Har Ghar Tiranga'. Following the directions of PM Modi, every household in the state hoisted the national flag” he said.
Under this program, the Prime Minister aimed to honor the unsung heroes who made supreme sacrifice for our country. Tripura, which shares an international border with Bangladesh, has selected 75 villages where various programs will be organized. This program was initiated by the Prime Minister on March 12, 2021.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the younger generation being aware of the individuals who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He urged everyone to share their stories and history with the younger generation.
