
The Tripura government is working to to accelerate the development of the people living in marginal areas, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Monday.
Addressing the first meeting of the Tripura State Employment Guarantee Council for the financial year 2025–26 at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said, specific plans must be worked on to bring the benefits of development projects to the people in these marginal areas.
“The government is determined to ensure the socio-economic development of the people, including infrastructure development and road connectivity in the marginal areas,” said Dr. Saha according to a press release.
He said that MGNREGA is very important for the development of the rural economy, as major part of the state is rural. He said, the state government is working with emphasis on creating permanent assets for the development of rural areas.
Dr. Saha also underlined the importance of co-ordinated efforts between officials and local elected representatives in implementing the development programs.
The Chief Minister also laid emphasis on regular monitoring to maintain the quality of work, in addition to keeping public representatives informed about the progress of development work.
He said that if any problem arises in the implementation of development programs, it should be brought to the notice of public representatives immediately, and initiatives should be taken to resolve it.
Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Science and Technology Minister Animesh Debbarma, MLA Kishore Barman, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA Swapna Majumdar, MLA Shambhu Lal Chakma, MLA Mailafru Mog, MDC Sanjib Reang, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Secretary of the Rural Development Department Abhishek Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, secretaries of various departments, CEO of TTAADC, and District Magistrates of the 8 districts of the state were present in the meeting and participated in the discussion.
