Tripura Guv reaches Mizoram to assume charge as Acting Governor

Agartala, Sept 29: Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, who is presently serving as the Governor of Tripura, reached Mizoram on Sunday to take additional charge as acting Governor of the northeastern state.

The Tripura Governor was received with a warm welcome by Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, along with key cabinet members, including Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama and Home Minister K Sapdanga, at Lengpui Airport near Aizawl. A ceremonial guard of honour was presented to Nallu upon his arrival.

On Monday, the swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Raj Bhavan, where Justice Nelson of the Gauhati High Court will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Governor Nallu.

President Droupadi Murmu officially appointed Nallu as Mizoram’s acting Governor on September 26 last, following the temporary leave of Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, who is undergoing medical treatment. (with inputs from agencies)
