Agartala, Nov 07: Tripura is now on fast track of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
He arrived in Tripura to join launch of BJP’s week-long Booth Vijoy Abhiyan on Monday.
Addressing the party Karyakartas at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, he said, Tripura would stand by BJP in the coming assembly polls to continue the wave of progress.
“BJP will win the 2023 election in Tripura. No other party can win even if Congress-CPM or any other party forms an alliance,” he said.
Overwhelmed by response from the party Karyakartas during the launch of ‘Booth Vijay Abhiyan’, he also expressed hope that the BJP would retain power in the state with more seats.
“We secured 44 seats last time. I believe, this time we will win at least 55 seats,” Dr. Sarma said.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other state leaders were present.
Earlier, the Chief Minister along with others received Dr. Sarma at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala.
The visit of Sarma, who is also the chairman of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), to Tripura is significant as the state would go to polls early next year. The visit is also being viewed as an effort of the party to boost the morale of the karyakartas ahead of the elections.
Before leaving the state, the Assam Chief Minister visited Mata Tripura Sundari Temple at Udaipur and Santi Kali Ashram at Amarpur.
