Tripura IT Director participates in key discussions on Digital Connectivity in New Delhi

Agartala, Oct 9: The Director of IT has participated in a key meeting held on the sidelines of the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC), inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday.
The meeting of Information Technology (IT) Ministers of States and Union Territories, IT Secretaries and senior officials was attended by Jeya Ragul Geshan B, Director of Information Technology, from Tripura.
He represented the state at the meeting chaired by Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.
The discussions focused on strengthening coordination between the Centre and states to accelerate digital connectivity and expand technology-driven infrastructure across the country.
Key areas of deliberation included expediting Right of Way (RoW) clearances for telecom infrastructure, enhancing the BharatNet network, improving last-mile connectivity and strengthening measures to combat cyber fraud.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between the Centre and State Governments in bridging the digital divide, ensuring wider access to digital services and creating a robust digital ecosystem.
An official said, Tripura's participation reflects the state's engagement in national-level initiatives aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure, improving connectivity and promoting technology-enabled governance, in line with India's broader vision of a digitally empowered society.
