Tripura man ‘abducted’ in B’Desh, rescued, one held

Agartala, Sept 19: A resident of Tripura was recently abducted by the miscreants in Bangladesh and ransom was demanded for his release.
The BSF’s prompt response helped safe rescue of the abducted person and arrest of one of the miscreants.
A statement from BSF said, the abducted person is now in custody of Bangladesh police at Chattogram and he would be handed over to BSF after formalities.
Swapna Mog, wife of Challa Fur Mog, resident of Mogpara in Radhanagar under PR Bari police station of South Tripura district, visited Belonia border outpost and approached BSF Coy Commander on Thursday regarding the abduction of her husband in Bangladesh.
According to BSF, responding to the grievance of the abducted person’s wife, the BSF approached BGB and then a Company commander level flag meeting was held between Belonia BOP and Majumdarhat BGB BOP.
During the meeting, the BSF Commander condemned the incident and conveyed serious concern about the abduction of the Indian National in Bangladesh.
During discussions, the BGB Commander intimated the BSF that one miscreant involved in the case was arrested by Bangladesh police and massive search is on for apprehending the absconding miscreants.
The BGB Coy Commander further assured that after completion of formalities, the Indian national- Challa Fur Mog, who is in custody of Bangladesh Police at Chattogram, would be handed over to BSF.
The woman expressed her gratitude for the initiative taken by the Border Security Force.
As intimated by the woman, her husband went to Bangladesh on September 13 last to visit his relatives on proper passport and Visa through the Belonia Land Custom Station. While returning, he was allegedly abducted by a group of Bangladeshi miscreants. Besides, the miscreants had demanded Rs. 1 lakh as ransom for release.
