Tripura minister asks officials to expedite transport infrastructure works

Agartala, Mar 09: Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday said that the state government has been undertaking several development-oriented initiatives to modernize and strengthen the transport infrastructure across the state.
The minister informed that a number of key projects are currently underway, including the construction of a new Transport Commissionerate office in Agartala, establishment of new District Transport Offices (DTOs) in different districts, and development of new motor stands at various locations across the state.
Chowdhury chaired a high-level review meeting at the state secretariat to assess the progress of these ongoing infrastructure development projects under the Transport Department. The meeting reviewed the status of construction work, project timelines, and financial aspects associated with the initiatives.
During the meeting, the minister directed the departments and executing agencies to expedite the construction work while maintaining quality standards. He passed instructions to ensure timely completion of the projects and submit the necessary Utilization Certificates after completion of the works.
Senior officials from the Transport Department, along with representatives from the Public Works Department, Rural Development Department, and the Tripura Housing Board, attended the meeting along with officials from the concerned construction agencies.
