
Agartala, May 20: In an important step towards strengthening the Orange Economy, the Government of Tripura on Wednesday organised a Stakeholder Consultation Programme on the Draft Tripura AVGC-XR Policy in Agartala.
The initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is being pursued under the leadership of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and IT, Finance and P&C Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, according to the Directorate of IT.
The consultation programme, organised by the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, academic experts, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) ecosystem.
Among those present were Kiran Gitte, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura, and Jeya Ragul Geshan B., Director of Information Technology, Government of Tripura.
Addressing the gathering, the IT Director highlighted the state government's vision of fostering creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, skill development and digital employment opportunities through the AVGC-XR sector.
Senior officials, including R.K. Samal, along with other dignitaries and departmental representatives, also attended the consultation.
The programme witnessed participation from several distinguished experts who shared insights into the rapidly evolving AVGC-XR industry and its potential to generate opportunities for Tripura’s youth and creative entrepreneurs.
The experts included Austin Davis, Head of Skill Development at NID and Member of the Task Force for the National AVGC Strategy; Manvendra Shukul, Member of the Board of Directors of IICT; Prof. Saikat Sekhareswar Roy, Head of the Editing Department at SRFTI; Anurag Khurana, CEO of Newgen Gaming Pvt. Ltd.; Vishal Parekh, COO of CyberPowerPC; and Lt. Col. (Dr.) Soumya Prakash Otta, Director of STPI.
The consultation served as a collaborative platform to deliberate on key areas such as skill development, startup promotion, cultural content creation and youth-led innovation.
The discussions focused on positioning Tripura as an emerging AVGC-XR hub in the Northeast, contributing to the broader vision of developing a vibrant Orange Economy in the state.
