Tripura Police recovers four pistols, seven magazines

Based on intelligence inputs, Tripura Police has recovered four pistols and seven magazines from a house on Tuesday night.
Speaking to the reporters, West Tripura district Superintendent of Police (SP) Namit Pathak confirmed that the pistols and the magazines were recovered from house of Dipankar Sen at Madhyapara under Amtali police station.
Sen, an accused in multiple cases (mostly arms act), was arrested earlier and he is now behind the bars, the SP said.
"We received information about presence of firearms at Dipankar Sen's residence and carried out the raid. During search, the policemen after digging in a room recovered the four pistols and seven magazines," the SP informed the reporters at Amtali police station.
The factory-made pistols have been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory for examination, he added.
The SP West along with Addl. SP Urban Dhruva Nath, SDPO Amtali Parmita Pandey and OC Paritosh Das visited the spot at the time of recovery of the pistols.
