Tripura Police seizes 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets

Agartala, June 29: In a major breakthrough under ‘Neshamukt Tripura’ campaign, the state police seized Yaba tablets worth Rs. 7.5 crore on Monday.

During routine vehicle checking under Damcherra police station in North Tripura district, the police personnel intercepted a suspicious vehicle. 

Accordingly, the vehicle search was conducted under secure conditions.

The Executive Magistrate, SDPO, and Forensic team were present during the search proceedings to ensure compliance with the provisions of law.

During the search, police recovered approximately 1.5 lakh Yaba tablets from the vehicle. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is approximately Rs. 7.5 crore, police said.

The narcotic substance has been seized following all due legal procedures, and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend all persons involved in the drug trafficking network.

North Tripura district police said the force remains firmly committed to combating drugs trafficking and other organized crimes through strict enforcement of the law and coordinated action, with the objective of ensuring a safer and drug-free society.
