Tripura Police's crackdown on drug traffickers continues, 10K Yaba tablets seized

Agartala, July 22: In line with the vision of Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to build a drugs-free state, the police's crackdown on the drug traffickers is continues to bring in positive outcomes.
Soo after assuming office as the Chief Minister, Dr. Saha realized the impact of drugs menace on the young generation and took a serious note. As instructed by the Chief Minister, the Tripura Police is also going whole hog to prevent drugs trafficking, building trust among the people.
In a latest operation, the North Tripura district police held an individual of Assam and seized 10,000 Yaba tablets from his possession at Nayapara of Dharmanagar on Monday.
The contraband items worth Rs. 50 lakh, a Thar vehicle and a motorcycle were seized from the scene.
Superintendent of Police, North Tripura district- Bhanupada Chakraborty, stated that another suspect managed to escape sensing police's presence. He is hopeful that further interrogation would reveal the identity and whereabouts of the second individual soon.
The Chief Minister hailed the police's achievement in the fight against drugs.
“Strengthening PM Narendra Modi Ji’s fight against drug abuse, Tripura Police seized 10,000 Yaba tablets in Dharmanagar. A drug peddler from a neighboring state has been arrested. Also, two vehicles have been seized," Dr. Saha wrote on X.
