Agartala, Aug 05: Tipra Motha chairman Pradyut Kishore on Thursday said that he was ready to talk with any political party if a ‘constitutional solution’ in written form is ensured to the demand of greater Tipraland.
He came out with this statement following a courtesy meet with West Bengal Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh in Agartala.
“It is very clear, we want Greater Tipraland. We are ready to hold talks with any political party—be it BJP, TMC or CPI-M—if they can give us a constitutional solution to our demand. We want the assurance in writing so that it can be shown to our Tiprasa people,” the Tipra Motha chairman told the media.
He also stated that he had discussions with the TMC leader over the present political situation of the state.
“I know Kunal Ghosh for years. He wanted to know about the present political situation of the state and I briefed him accordingly,” Devbarma said and hinted that there was no such discussion on any kind of alliance. However, the meeting created a space for political speculations among the people.
West Bengal unit’s Trinamool Congress General Secretary, Kunal Ghosh on Thursday said his party would form government in Tripura in the next assembly elections.
“In West Bengal we made the Left Front and Congress draw blank. In Tripura we would defeat BJP to form Trinamool Congress government. We do what we say”, Ghosh told a press conference.
Three days after All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary- Abhishek Banerjee visited Tripura, the West Bengal unit General Secretary of the party arrived here in the state and met two leaders- former MP of CPI-M Ajay Biswas and Chairman of the Tripura Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA)- Pradyot Kishor Manikya.
Ghosh said the visits were just a courtesy and nothing political.
Speaking to the media, Ghosh said that he met Pradyut Kishore following an old connection and they had talks on sports and other matters.
In the meantime, a TMC delegation led by Kunal Ghosh submitted deputation in West Agartala police station seeking action against the attack on party’s All India general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s convoy in the state on August 2 last.
