Tripura polls: Final turnout 89.95%, no irregularity found in any polling station

Agartala, Feb 17: Tripura assembly elections- 2023 recorded 89.95 percent voting including postal ballots, according to an official report.
The report said, after completing scrutiny of records the final voter turnout at polling stations stands at 87.76 per cent while another 2.19 per cent voting through postal ballots was recorded.
The polling in all 3,337 polling stations under sixty constituencies was peaceful on February 16 last.
The scrutiny of poll reports for all 60 constituencies was conducted on Friday by the General Observers appointed by the Election Commission of India in presence of the contesting candidates.
“During scrutiny of various poll reports, no irregularities was noticed by the Observers in any of the polling stations and no recommendation for Re-poll was made by the Observers in their Scrutiny Report,” the official statement read.
Meanwhile, 259 candidates including 30 women contested the polls and over 28 lakh voters decided their fate. The counting of votes will take place on March 02.
