Tripura: Present govt recruits over 6200 teachers, more jobs on card

Agartala, Nov 11: Tripura Education minister Ratanlal Nath on Friday said the present state government already gave over 6200 teaching jobs while recruitment of more teachers is on the card.

Addressing a press conference, he said, jobs for 110 Post Graduate Teachers, 230 Graduate Teachers and 200 Special Educators are in the pipeline. He said, the offers would be issued soon; possibly by this month.

According to the Education minister, the present state government already recruited 1506 Under Graduate Teachers, 2974 Graduate Teachers, 1471 Graduate Teachers (Secondary) and 347 Post Graduate Teachers.

Nath said, the Education department issued 1482 offers for Graduate Teachers (TET-2) on Friday.

Meanwhile, after termination of the 10,323 teachers following a court order, the School Education sector suffered from acute shortage of teachers while the students were seen protesting the issue in various places of the state. The new recruitment drive reportedly filled up the gap to some extent and strengthened the School Education system.

In the press conference, the Education minister made another important announcement that more 25 schools under 21 assembly constituencies would be converted into Vidyajyoti Schools.

The 25 proposed schools are- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Vidya Bhavan in Pratapgarh, Belabar and Kabiraj Tilla HS Schools in Badharghat, Office Tilla HS School in Bishalgarh, Srinagar Gabardi HS School in Golaghati, Durlavnarayan and Khaschowmuhani HS Schools in Nalchar, Pitra and Noabari HS Schools in Bagma, Hokutwisa English Medium HS School in Karamcherra, Pratyekroy HS School in Bagbasa, Tilthai R.C. HS School and Huplongcherra T.E. HS School in Jubarajnagar, Ishanpur HS School in Simna, Notun Nagar Girls HS School in Barjala, Reshambagan HS School in Khayerpur, Hariananda English Medium HS School in Radhakishorpur, Madhupur HS School in Kamalasagar, Ghilatali Bazar HS School in Kalyanpur- Pramodnagar, Garjeebazar HS School in Matabari, Matai English Medium HS School in Hrishyamukh, Rangamati HS School in Amarpur, Bamancherra English Medium HS School in Surma, Srirampur Suryamani HS School in Chandipur and Madhu Chowdhury Para HS School in Mohanpur.

Earlier, 100 schools were converted into Vidyajyoti Schools across Tripura. Once the new decision is implemented, it would give a fillip to the Education system.
