Tripura records 100% first-dose vaccination in 384 GPs, 14 ULBs, 10 Blocks

Agartala, Aug 03: The small  northeastern state Tripura has already recorded 100 percent vaccination of all eligible people in 384 Gram Panchayats, 14 Urban Local Bodies and 10 Blocks with the first shot against the coronavirus.

Tripura Chief Secretary Kumar Alok shared the update in a tweet on Tuesday. He mentioned that first-dose Covid vaccination of 91 percent eligible persons was already done in the state.

The Chief Secretary hailed the efforts made by the Health department and the administration for this achievement.

Meanwhile, the Tripura government pushed an aggressive vaccination drive against coronavirus keeping safety of the people in view.

According to an official report, total 31,72,966 doses were administered across the state till Aug 02—23,84,078 people received the first dose and 7,88,888 people among them also got the second shot.

The report said, as many as 7,99,840 doses were available with the state while more 4,04,210 doses were expected to arrive in the current month.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, in a programme on Monday claimed that Tripura was now holding the top position in the country in terms of vaccination of 18+ people. 

He also mentioned that the healthcare workers in Tripura were making relentless efforts even in remote parts to achieve the goal of 100 percent vaccination.
