Tripura sees 8.37 pc growth in GST collection in FY 2024-25, Governor tells House

Agartala, Jan 10: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, in his customary address at the beginning of the Tripura Legislative Assembly's Winter Session, said the state saw a growth of 8.37 percent in GST collection in the FY 2024-25.
While highlighting the performance and vision of the state government, he said, the revenue generation stood at Rs 1005 crore in GST, Rs 307 crore in VAT, and Rs 231 crore in excise duties for the fiscal year 2024-25 up to the month of October, representing a growth of 8.37%, 9% and 4% respectively.
In his address, the Governor mentioned about approval given by the state government for establishing a private-run Open University. This would be named Mata Tripurasundari Open University.
He also lauded the state government's initiatives and achievements in various sectors.
Meanwhile, an Amendment Bill has been moved in the Tripura Assembly on Friday proposing the increase of salaries, allowances of Ministers, MLAs and former legislators by 45 to 50 per cent.
