Tripura sees decline in unemployment rate, minister gives details in Assembly

Agartala, Sept 05: Tripura has witnessed a significant decline in unemployment rate since formation of new government in 2018, as per the data presented by a minister in the House on Thursday.
According to Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Tinku Roy the number of job seekers registered on the National Career Service Portal in the state as on March, this year is 3,09,482.
While emphasizing the present state government’s focus on reducing unemployment rate, he also said that the number of registered unemployed as on March, 2018 was 7,41,305 in the state.
In reference to a discussion initiated by MLA Sudip Roy Barman, which focused on filling up vacant posts in various departments on the second day of the Monsoon Session, the Minister presented a comprehensive report on the employment generation and government jobs in the state since 2018. 
Several legislators, including Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury participated in the discussion.
