Tripura students bring laurels on national stage

Agartala, Dec 07: A group of students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Tripura, delivered impressive performance in a national-level event and brought laurels to the state.

According to a press release, the National Cultural and Literary Festival, Kala Utsav & Samriddhi 2025 was held in Andhra Pradesh from December 3 to 5, organised by the National Educational Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APTWREIS).

Participants from 25 states and Union Territories showcased their talent and diverse traditions at the national event. From Tripura, a contingent of 45 students—17 boys and 28 girls— from 12 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) under the Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) took part.

The festival highlighted tribal culture and folk traditions through a wide range of performances, including solo and group dances, vocal and instrumental music, and storytelling in Hindi and English based on tribal folklore. Competitions such as extempore speech, spelling bee, debate and quiz were also part of the programme.

Tripura students delivered an impressive performance across categories at the 6th EMRS National Cultural & Literary Festival.

The state’s student secured prizes in in multiple segments-- Regional Folk Dance (Group), Senior – 1st Prize, Tribal Vocal Music, Senior– 2nd Prize, Visual Arts (2D Painting), Senior– 1st Prize, Regional Tribal Group Dance, Senior– 3rd Prize, Quiz, Senior – 3rd Prize, Extempore Speech, Senior – 1st Prize and Tribal Group Dance, Junior– 3rd Prize.
