Tripura: TCPCR delegation calls on Governor

Agartala, Sept 07: Jayanti Debbarma, Chairperson of the Tripura Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TCPCR), along with the Member Secretary and Members of the Commission, called on Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, at Lok Bhavan, Agartala, on Monday.

During the meeting, the Governor directed the Commission to further strengthen and streamline its digital-based complaint and compliance mechanism to ensure timely disposal of grievances and prevent delays in addressing the pleas of victims, particularly children.

The delegation briefed the Governor on various issues concerning the protection and welfare of children and the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act in the State.

They also apprised him of the various initiatives and activities undertaken by the Commission to safeguard the rights of children and ensure their well-being, safety and overall development.

Appreciating the efforts of the TCPCR in promoting and protecting child rights, the Governor emphasized the importance of coordinated and concerted efforts among all stakeholders to create a safe, secure and supportive environment for every child in Tripura.

Joint secretary to the Governor Jayanta Bhattacharjee was present during the meeting.
