Tripura teacher Santosh Nath to be awarded by President on Teacher’s Day

Agartala, Aug 25: A teacher from Tripura among 46 from across the country has been nominated for National Award to be presented by President of India Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
This year, Santosh Nath, Head Teacher (in-charge) of South Mirzapur High School in South Tripura, would receive the national award at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on September 5 next.
According to a PIB press release, President of India Droupadi Murmu will confer the National Awards to 46 selected awardees.
The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education has been organising a National level function on Teachers Day i.e. 5th September every year to confer the National Awards to best teachers of the country, selected through a rigorous transparent and online three-stage selection process.
The purpose of National Awards to Teachers is to celebrate the unique contribution of teachers in the country and to honour those teachers who through their commitment and industry have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.
