Agartala, July 23: If everything falls as per plan, an off-campus centre of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) would soon be seen functioning in Tripura.
The NFSU authority has accepted the state government’s proposal and agreed in-principle to establish an off-campus centre in the state.
The confirmation came in a letter sent by the Executive Registrar, NFSU- C.D. Jadeja to Tripura Chief Secretary Alok Kumar on Thursday last.
According to the letter, the University authority would start academic courses in the state in a temporary rented building in Tripura until financial approval for a full-fledged NFSU Campus is received from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The NFSU, in the letter, has requested for allotment of building premises (temporary) for commencing the academic programs of the University and sought confirmation in this regard so that a team of the University can visit the proposed infrastructure and finalize it accordingly.
“We request you to kindly provide suitable building which has minimum 10 to 15 classrooms @ 50 square meter each and 4 to 5 Halls of 40 square meters each per laboratories and 4 to 5 halls for administrative staff and library,” the letter reads.
The University would pay the rent at a concessional rate as decided by the Government of Tripura. The National Forensic Sciences University is an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
