Tripura to see 15 pc hike in GST collection in next 5 years: Official

Agartala, July 01: Tripura will record 15 percent increase in Goods and Service Tax (GST) collection in the next five years, an official said on Monday.
Addressing a programme in Agartala, Secretary to Finance department Apurba Roy said, Tripura has recorded collection of Rs. 1,899 crore as GST in the FY 2022-23.
Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the GST Day and felicitation programme organized by the Directorate of GST at Prajna Bhavan, Agartala.
Commissioner of GST T.V. Ravi, Additional Secretary to Finance department Akinchan Sarkar and other officials were present in the programme. A good number of tax payers and agents of Small Savings Schemes were felicitated in the event.
The Finance minister in his address said, though the state government didn’t impose additional tax burden on the people over the past six years, the state saw collection of tax of over Rs. 3000 crore in various fields in the Financial year 2022-23.
