Tripura Tourism Minister meets two Union Ministers, seeks support for new projects

Agartala, Sept 25: Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday, seeking their support for advancing new tourism projects in the state.

On Wednesday, the Tourism Minister called on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and apprised her of the ongoing initiatives and future plans of the Tourism Department. 

He also sought the Centre’s assistance for taking forward some new projects. 

The Union Finance Minister, according to Chowdhury, assured full cooperation for the development of Tripura’s tourism sector.

On Thursday, Chowdhury held a detailed discussion with DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, presenting the department’s current activities and upcoming projects.

He urged the DoNER Ministry’s support and funding to boost Tripura’s tourism infrastructure.

Scindia, as mentioned by Chowdhury on social media, had assured all possible cooperation for the growth of tourism in the state.

Tourism Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma and Director Prashant Badal Negi accompanied the minister during both meetings.
