Tripura's evolving IT ecosystem attracting young talents, Director interacts with interns

The Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, is providing aspiring technology professionals with valuable industry exposure through its Internship Programme 2026, aimed at equipping college students with practical skills and hands-on experience in emerging areas of IT.

The programme has witnessed encouraging participation from students across the country. According to officials, more than 80 students from over 15 universities and educational institutions have enrolled in the internship so far, highlighting the growing interest in Tripura's expanding IT ecosystem and skill-development initiatives.

Designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, the internship offers participants an opportunity to work closely with experienced IT professionals and government officers.

The interns are receiving training and mentorship in specialized domains such as software and application development, networking, and cyber security.

As part of the programme, Director of Information Technology, Jeya Ragul Geshan B, interacted with the interns and encouraged them to make the most of the learning opportunity.

He urged the students to actively participate in the training sessions, expand their technical knowledge, and strengthen their professional capabilities for future careers in the technology sector.

The Director also extended his best wishes to the participants for a productive learning journey and success in their future endeavours.

Officials said the initiative reflects DIT's continued commitment to nurturing young talent, promoting innovation, and creating skill-development opportunities for students. Through such programmes, the department aims to support the development of a skilled workforce capable of contributing to the state's digital transformation and the country's growing technology industry.
