Agartala, June 19: If everything goes as per the plan, Tripura's important tourist spot Tirthamukh will have mobile network coverage soon.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has already taken initiatives to install a tower in the area facilitating the tourist as well as the local people for mobile connectivity.
Nestled in the serene landscapes of Tripura, Tirthamukh is a sacred pilgrimage site renowned for its spiritual significance and tranquil surroundings.
Meanwhile, Tirthamukh draws massive gathering every year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. On this day, people from across various places visit Tirthamukh and perform religious rituals. With thousands of devotees in attendance, this event highlights the rich cultural heritage and tradition of Tripura.
With this development, the tourists visiting nearby Dumboor Lake, another wonderful tourist destination of Tripura, will also have mobile network.
In response to a long-standing request from the local community, a BSNL team conducted an inspection of the proposed tower site on Friday last.
Additionally, the team evaluated a location in Chaplingcherra, a village along the Indo-Bangla international border at Karbook sub-division, for another potential tower installation.
Currently, residents of Tirthamukh and Chaplingcherra have to go to nearby towns like Jatanbari or Karbook sub-division headquarters to access mobile communication services, while many other areas already enjoy 5G connectivity.
The prospect of having mobile network service has brought much joy to the people of these regions.
