Tripura's GBP Hospital all set for debut in Kidney Transplant

Agartala, July 06: Fulfilling the State Government's commitment to improve healthcare, the medical team of Tripura's prime referral health facility- GBP hospital is set make debut in kidney transplant.

Addressing an event in Agartala on Saturday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced the probable date for the maiden kidney transplant in the GBP hospital on July 8. 
He said the present state government is committed towards enhancing the healthcare and make it accessible to all with improved facilities.
The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering after inaugurating a two-day training camp for state-based dental surgeons under the National Oral Health Programme. The event, held at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala, was jointly organized by the Tripura units of the National Health Mission and the Indian Dental Association.
The Chief Minister launched websites for the Tripura State Dental Council, Agartala Government Dental College, and IGM Hospital, and inaugurated the tele-consultation facility for dental care through e-Sanjeevani.
The Chief Minister in his inaugural remarks mentioned the key initiatives of his government in the field of healthcare. He also emphasized transformation of the state's only government dental college as the best in Northeast India.
Rajib Dutta, Tripura Mission Director of the National Health Mission; Dr. Anjan Das, Director of Health and Family Welfare; Dr. H.P. Sharma, Director of Medical Education; Dr. Shalu Roy, Principal of the Agartala Government Dental College; and Dr. Samir Ranjan Dutta Chowdhury, president of the Indian Dental Association, among others were present in the inaugural event.
