Tripura's GBP hospital reaches new heights with first successful Kidney Transplant

Agartala, July 08: Scripting a history, Tripura's GBP Hospital successfully performed its maiden kidney transplant on Monday.

Under the supervision of experts from Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, Manipur, the successful Kidney Transplant ensured a remarkable achievement in the region's healthcare landscape.
The first patient, identified through Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha's "Mukhyamantri Samipeshu" initiative, underwent the transplant at the hospital's Super-speciality Block. 
Dr. Sankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, commended the collaborative efforts that began earlier this year and culminated in this groundbreaking surgery.
Dr. Chakraborty emphasized that the transplant was conducted free of cost, underscoring the hospital's commitment to providing accessible healthcare services. Post-operation, the patient and the donor remain in stable condition and its a testament to the skill and dedication of the medical team.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha had personally visited GBP Hospital, where he engaged with the medical staff, donors, and recipients involved in the procedure on Sunday evening. 
Dr. Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio, expressed his admiration for the team's efforts and extended his heartfelt wishes for the ongoing success of similar medical endeavors in Tripura.
