Agartala, Jul 24: Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) on Wednesday said the electricity maintenance works for the upcoming Durga Puja festival would commence from August 5 next.
While announcing it, TSECL Managing Director Biswajit Basu assured uninterrupted power supply during puja days.
He also said, laying of underground cables is already underway in Agartala and the project will be carried out in two phases including installation of 11 kV and LT lines.
The TSECL is currently preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and arranging the necessary financial support for the project, the MD said.
To improve service reliability, TSECL has installed over 20,000 distribution transformers, with several scheduled for replacement soon, he added.
Besides, he said, efforts are underway to enhance the capacity of TSECL's call centers and provide mobile contact numbers at the sub-divisional level, making it easier for residents to reach their local power office for any complaints.
The TSECL officials emphasized their commitment to ensuring a reliable power supply throughout the festive season. The assurance comes as a relief to the citizens amid widespread complaints of frequent power cuts across the state.
TSECL officials also said, several measures have already been implemented to prevent power outages, including regular maintenance of electrical infrastructure and increased monitoring of power grids.
