Tripura's Tirthamukh Mela reflects rich cultural heritage: CM

Agartala, Jan 14: Traditional Tirthamukh Mela of Tripura's Gomati district on the occasion of Pous Sankranti highlights the rich cultural heritage of the state, said Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

Thousands of devotees take part in the event at Tirthamukh, take holy dip in the confluence of Raima and Saima Rivers and perform religious rituals every year on Makar Sankranti.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the two-day Tirthamukh Mela amid huge enthusiasm of the devotees on Sunday evening. 
Addressing the gathering, he said, the present state government is tirelessly working for the social and economic development of the marginalized people, aiming to make Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura a reality through comprehensive development.
“Tirthamukh Poush Sankranti Mela stands on the faith and trust of the people. A fair symbolizes a gathering and bonding of people. This bond has strengthened our unity and solidarity,” said Dr. Saha.
He also said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. The Prime Minister is working with determination to establish Ram Rajya in the country through the construction of Ram Mandir.
Dr. Saha further stated that the state government is dedicated to the social and economic development of marginalized people.
“Through the overall development of the state, Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura will be possible. The present government is committed to solving people's problems. The state government is working to provide modern services, including roads, mobile towers, and tourist accommodation in the Tirthmukh area,” he added.
During the program Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikas Debbarma, Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia,  TTAADC EM Dolly Reang,  Gomati District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma and others were present.
