Tripura’s Biplab Deb appointed BJP’s national general secretary

Agartala, Aug 17: West Tripura MP and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has been appointed as the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Deb, according to party sources, was promoted to this position following his role in BJP’s massive success in recent West Bengal assembly polls.
Congratulating Deb on his new responsibility, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said his extensive administrative experience and grassroots leadership would further strengthen the BJP’s organisational structure across the country.
Deb, who has played a significant role in strengthening the BJP organisation in Tripura, is expected to contribute to the party’s organisational activities at the national level.
Leaders and party workers extended their best wishes to Deb, expressing confidence that he would discharge the new responsibility with dedication and contribute to further strengthening the BJP nationwide.
Meanwhile, Deb has emerged as a prominent political figure in the state, with his growing responsibilities within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) drawing widespread appreciation among party workers and supporters.
Deb has successfully handled various organizational responsibilities entrusted to him by the BJP. His role in the recent West Bengal Assembly elections, where the party came to power, was particularly highlighted by his supporters as a major achievement. Following this, he was appointed as a national general secretary of the BJP.
The appointment has triggered celebrations across Tripura. Party workers were seen celebrating, bursting firecrackers and carrying posters and placards featuring Deb.
