TRLM organizes Alumni Meet of DDU-GKY

Agartala, Aug 29: An Alumni Meet under Deen Dayal Upadhay-Gramin Kaushal Yojana was organised by Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) at Rabindra Bhawan on Sunday 

The trainees and alumnus participated in the programme.

The TRLM is organising different programmes for two days on Deen Dayal Upadhay-Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU-GKY).

Principal Secretary of the Rural Development department L. H. Darlong inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. 

Chief Executive Officer if TRLM Vishal Kumar and Additional Executive Officer Subhash Chandra Saha were also present at the event. 

Darlong said, the country's economy would strengthen with the employment of youth from the rural areas. In this case, DDU-GKY plays an important role. He emphasised upon employment of the trainees under the Yojana to the scheme implementing organisation officials present at the event. 

Trained under DDU-GKY, Kumila Debbarma, Simpa Roy, Piyali Mitra and Jahengir Hussain, who are now employed, shared about their experiences at the event. The guests also handed over job letters to a few trainees during the programme. State's scheme implementing organisation representatives were also felicitated. 

It is to be noted that the Yojana was started in 2014 by the Ministry of Rural Development for employment of youths between 18-35 years from the rural areas and poor background based on their skills. 

Residential training Centres provide training on various employment related courses for 3 months, 6 months and 9 months to the candidates. As many as 9,712 youths in Tripura have been trained till July, 2022 under this scheme. Among them, 3,945 are currently employed in different organisations in the state as well as outside the state.
