TSECL appeals for timely payment of electricity bills

Agartala, Sept 21: The Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) appealed to its consumers for timely payment of electricity bills.
According to official sources, a good number of consumers have been neglecting payment of due bills despite sincere efforts of of TSECL in delivering uninterrupted power supply.
As a result, the TSECL has been facing challenges in maintaining infrastructure and making payments to suppliers such as GAIL, ONGC.
The TSECL informed that only 25 percent of consumers in Jolaibari sub-division had paid their bills for August on time while unpaid bills from private consumers have reached a staggering Rs. 544.55 crore as of August.
The corporation has also expressed concern over the illegal use of "hook lines," which is further disrupting power distribution.
In a bid to ensure stable services for all, TSECL has requested all consumers to cooperate by paying their bills on time and refrain from using illegal connections.
The corporation emphasized the importance of timely payment to maintain a reliable power supply and requested public support in this regard.
