TU’s 13th Convocation: Guv emphasizes to integrate modern tech in education

Agartala, Sept 08: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Sunday emphasized the need for modernizing educational methods while maintaining a strong foundation in traditional education.

He was addressing the 13th convocation ceremony of Tripura University at its Maharaja Bir Bikram Auditorium.
The Governor highlighted the global changes in the education system, particularly the increasing use of cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI).

He pointed out that the Indian government has implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to create greater employment opportunities by aligning educational qualifications with industry demands.

The Governor urged students to contribute to the welfare of the underprivileged sections of society and called on them to actively participate in the nation's progress.

He mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming India into a self-reliant, developed nation by 2047, and encouraged the students of Tripura University to take lead in this mission.

In his speech, the Governor reminded the students that merely earning degrees and certificates is not enough. He advised them to focus on solving problems with innovative thinking and knowledge, as the future of the country rests in their hands. He also called upon degree and medal recipients to use their education to positively impact society and contribute to the nation’s growth.

The Governor also addressed the faculty, urging them to design courses that meet the demands of the changing times. He stressed the importance of setting up advanced research centers and incubators, and introducing industry-relevant courses to provide experiential learning opportunities for students. This, he noted, would help students compete in the global job market.
He further emphasized the need to integrate modern technology into education, ensuring that students can take advantage of digital infrastructure and online learning platforms.

Highlighting the significance of fostering an environment for innovation, research, and entrepreneurship, the Governor said that students should be equipped with skills that will allow them to thrive in a dynamic world. He also suggested that the students and faculty should focus on exploring Tripura’s natural resources through research.

The event also saw speeches from Chancellor Ahmed Javed, Vice-Chancellor Ganga Prasad Prasain, and Registrar Deepak Sharma.

A total of 163 students across various academic disciplines and levels received medals during the convocation.

The Governor personally presented medals and certificates to post-graduate students, while Chancellor Ahmed Javed awarded medals to under-graduate students. The Vice-Chancellor presented certificates to Ph.D. scholars.
