Two injured due to explosion in 11KV breaker

Agartala, Sept 20: Two power staff were injured and electricity service was briefly disrupted in parts of Unakoti district on Saturday after an unexpected explosion occurred in an 11KV breaker at the 132 KV sub-station in Gouranagar.

Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the incident took place during routine operations when hot oil from the breaker splashed on the on-duty workers due to the explosion. 

Both were immediately rushed for treatment. One of them has been shifted to Silchar for advanced medical care, while the other is receiving treatment at GBP Hospital, Agartala.
The minister responded swiftly, instructing officials to ensure the best possible medical support for the injured. 

As an interim relief, the government has provided financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 to the worker sent to Silchar and Rs. 10,000 to the one admitted in Agartala.

Nath further assured that he is personally monitoring the matter and that the state government will extend all necessary support to the affected employees.

Meanwhile, engineers and technical staff worked on a war footing to restore electricity in the affected areas. Officials confirmed that power supply has already been normalized.
