Two Mizoram youths held in Tripura along with fake currencies

Agartala, Nov 09: Two youths from Mizoram were arrested in Tripura capital along with Fake India Currency Notes of Rs. 1.21 lakh, police said on Wednesday.
Bokul Kishore Chakma and Rajeswar Chakma, both residents of Mamit district in Mizoram, were trapped and arrested by Tripura Police from Chandrapur motorstand area in Agartala on Tuesday evening.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sadar- Ajoy Kumar Das said the two youths were arrested when they reached Chandrapur to sell the Fake India Currencies followed by the trap of a source.
“High-quality Fake Indian Currency Notes of Rs. 1,21,000 were found in the possession of the two youths. As it appeared, the notes were printed out of the country to destabilize the Indian economy. The two youths during preliminary interrogation informed police that they had collected the notes from Rangamati,” the police officer told reporters.
He also said, Bokul Kishore among the arrestees was arrested along with arms and fake currencies in another state earlier also.
Das, who joined the operation in plain cloth, said the seized notes would be sent to a forensic laboratory. He said, the two arrestees would be produced before the court on Wednesday. He also smelled a strong syndicate’s involvement in the fake currency smuggling racket.
