Two Tripura youths still missing in Sikkim, Govt in touch with Sikkim admin

The Tripura government is in touch with the Sikkim administration regarding the two youths from Kailashahar who went missing after a tourist vehicle fell into Teesta river on May 29.
The youths still remained missing following disruption in search operation due to adverse weather conditions.
Swapnanil Deb (26), son of Satyajit Deb and resident of Sonamara under Ward 16 of Kailashahar Municipal Council and Devjyoti Deb (25), son of Samiran Deb, from Kacherghat area were travelling in the tourist vehicle from Lachen to Lachung.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, ICA secretary Dr. P.K. Chakravarty said, as soon as the matter came to the notice of the Chief Minister, a communication was made to the Sikkim government. Chakravarty said, he had telephonic conversation with Sikkim Chief Minister’s secretary K.N. Bhunia.
According to Chakravarty, the Sikkim CMO informed in a letter that inclement weather conditions were hampering the search and rescue operations.
He also said, Unakoti District Magistrate Tamal Majumder had telephonic discussions with the NDRF team. As of now, nine persons including two tourists from Tripura are missing.
