Agartala, Nov 13: A Vande Bharat Express is expected to run from Agartala very soon, MP Rajya Sabha Rajib Bhattacharjee said on Wednesday.
He hinted that train would be extended up to Assam’s Silchar and Tripura capital Agartala within the next few months and the infrastructure is getting ready. 
Bhattacharjee was addressing the gathering after virtual inauguration of an outlet under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PM-BJP) in the Agartala railway station by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
A total of 18 Jan Aushadhi Kendras at various railway stations across the country were dedicated by the Prime Minister in virtual mode. 

According to a press release from NFR, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various development projects worth around Rs 12,100 crore in Darbhanga, Bihar today.  The Prime Minister also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of railway projects worth over Rs. 1740 crore. He laid the foundation stone of Sonenagar Bypass Railway line from Chiralapothu to Bagha Bishunpur in Aurangabad district of Bihar worth over Rs 220 crore. 
He also dedicated to the nation, railway projects worth over Rs 1520 crore. These include Gauge conversion of Jhanjharpur – Laukaha Bazar Rail section, Darbhanga Bypass Railway Line which will ease out the railway traffic congestion at Darbhanga Junction, doubling of Railway Line projects which will facilitate better regional connectivity, among others. 
The Prime Minister also flagged off MEMU train services in the Jhanjharpur – Laukaha Bazar section. Introduction of MEMU train services in the section will facilitate easier access to jobs, education, and healthcare facilities in nearby towns and cities.
He also virtually inaugurated Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras from Darbhanga at 18 railway stations across India including Agartala Railway station in Tripura under the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway. Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Rajib Bhattacharjee was present along with other dignitaries at Agartala Railway station.
Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra’s main vision is to bring down the healthcare budget of every citizen of India through providing “Quality Generic Medicines at Affordable Prices” and being set up at places having sufficient footfall. 
The Prime Minister addressed that these Jan Aushadhi Kendras will ensure availability of affordable medicines at railway stations for the passengers and as well as general public and likely to be immensely beneficial for all segment of the society. It will also promote awareness and acceptance of generic medicines thereby reducing the overall expenditure on healthcare.
