VC Polls: Tripura minister chairs meeting with Khowai district leaders

Agartala, Sept 2: Tripura Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday held two separate organisational meetings with BJP leaders and workers in Khowai district and his Majlishpur Assembly constituency ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

As part of the party’s preparations, Chowdhury met with the leadership of Khowai district to review organisational readiness and chalk out the party’s strategy for the forthcoming elections.

The meeting was attended by three legislators from the district — Minister Bikash Debbarma, Chief Whip Kalyani Roy Saha and MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury — along with district BJP president Samir Kumar Das and presidents of various mandals in Khowai.

According to Chowdhury, discussions focused on organisational preparedness, election strategy and strengthening coordination between the party’s leadership and grassroots workers.

Separately, Chowdhury held another meeting with leaders of six Village Councils under his Majlishpur Assembly constituency. The meeting reviewed organisational preparations and the party’s strategy ahead of the Village Committee polls, besides discussing various issues related to the election and grassroots-level functioning.

The BJP has stepped up its organisational activities across areas under the TTAADC as political parties prepare for the upcoming Village Committee elections.
