Agartala, Mar 07: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, who arrived in Tripura on Saturday on a two-day visit to the state, attended a cultural programme at Lok Bhavan, Agartala in the evening.
The Vice President planted a Rudraksha sapling in the Lok Bhavan premises. The cultural programme was hosted by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu in his honour at the Darbar Hall of Lok Bhavan.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul, Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury, Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court M.S. Ramachandra Rao, Justice T. Amarnath Goud and Justice S. D. Purkayastha, Advocate General Shaktimoy Chakraborty, along with senior officials from the state administration and security forces.
He landed at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala this afternoon by a special aircraft.
The Vice President was received by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, and Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, among other officials.
During the visit, the Vice President will attend the 14th Convocation ceremony of Tripura University on Sunday. He is also scheduled to visit the International Fair Ground at Hapania, where he will inspect stalls set up by Self-Help Groups and interact with members, including “Lakhpati Didis”.
As part of his itinerary, the Vice President will pay floral tributes to Albert Ekka at Albert Ekka Park, Lichubagan.
