Vice President to begin two-day Tripura visit on Saturday

Agartala, Mar 6: Extensive preparations have been made ahead of the two-day visit of the Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, who is scheduled to arrive in Tripura on Saturday.

The Vice President is expected to land at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala at around 2:10 pm. He will be received by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with other senior government officials. In the evening, the dignitary will attend a state dinner hosted at Lok Bhavan.

As part of his schedule, the Vice President will participate in the 14th convocation ceremony of Tripura University on March 8. Later, he will visit the Self-Help Group exhibition stalls at the International Fair Ground in Hapania and interact with women entrepreneurs and “Lakhpati Didis”.

Meanwhile, the West Tripura district administration has announced special traffic regulations in view of the high-profile visit. Movement of heavy vehicles—including buses, trucks, and carriers transporting construction materials—will remain restricted along the stretch between the airport and Sekerkote during the visit, except for emergency services.

To ease traffic flow, commuters have been advised to use alternative routes.

Authorities have also urged air passengers to start early for the airport and arrive at least three hours before departure, carrying valid travel documents to avoid inconvenience due to possible traffic congestion.
