Violation of Covid norms: Tripura Police arrests 3803 people, registers 22 cases

(File Photo)Agartala, Aug 04: Tripura Police registered 22 specific cases and arrested 3803 persons in connection with violation of Covid norms.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday at Secretariat, Tripura Law minister Ratanlal Nath gave details on the actions taken by police for violation of Covid norms from April 1 to July 29 last.

Sharing details, Nath said, “Police arrested 3803 persons, registered 22 specific cases as well as collected fine money of Rs. 61,40,680 for violation of Section 144 of Cr.P.C.”

The Law minister also shared the district-wise break up according to which 2637 cases and four arrests along with collection of fine money of Rs. 21,17,700 were registered in the West Tripura district alone.

The number of cases registered in other districts included Sepahijala (181), Gomati (274), South Tripura (90), Khowai (160), Dhalai (140), Unakoti (129) and North Tripura (192).
