Vote Parbon: Over 2 lakhs Tripura households take part in ‘Rangoli Utsav’ for peaceful polls

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Agartala, Jan 14: Over 2 lakh households have participated in Rangoli Utsav, an initiative of Tripura Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kiran Gitte to spread the message of peaceful election, on the eve of auspicious Pous Sankranti.

To ensure free, fair and violence-free election, the Chief Electoral Officer has taken various initiatives including the Rangoli Utsav on the theme ‘Peaceful Election’, ‘Communal Harmony’ and ‘Accessible Election’.

Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte, West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and other officers participated in Rangoli making in front of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala.

According to an official press release, the CEO had appealed to all the households of Tripura to take part in this festival by making Rangoli in their houses. In every Assembly Constituency one prominent road had been selected for making Rangolis.
 
Addressing the media, the Chief Secretary said that in spite of differences of opinion the people of Tripura believe in peace and communal harmony. He has congratulated all the people who participated in the Rangoli Utsav.
 
Official sources said that over 2 lakh households had taken in the Rangoli Utsav in all sixty assembly constituencies in response to the call of the CEO.
 
Meanwhile, in order to make the ensuing general Election to Tripura Legislative Election 2023 peaceful and violence-free, the Chief Electoral Officer has taken various initiatives.
 
‘Mission Zero Poll Violence’ and ‘Mission 929’ were launched on December 31, 2022. As a part of the two Missions, all the Returning Officers have been conducting Assembly Constituency wise sensitization workshops involving representatives from political parties, eminent persons, police, social workers, media and CAPF officials.
