West Agartala police recover 25 lost mobile phones, stolen gold jewellery

Agartala, June 7: The West Agartala police have recovered 25 lost mobile phones and a large quantity of stolen gold jewellery during a series of operations conducted across different parts of the city based on confidential inputs.

According to police, the recovered gold ornaments are estimated to be worth around Rs. 35 lakh in the market. Following court directives, the recovered items were formally handed over to their rightful owners during a programme attended by Superintendent of Police, West Tripura- Namit Pathak.

Speaking on the occasion in the presence of OC West Agartala Rana Chatterjee, the district police chief said that two separate theft cases were registered at West Agartala Police Station following incidents that occurred on April 9 and April 23. During the course of the investigation, police teams launched extensive operations and successfully recovered the stolen gold jewellery as well as the lost mobile phones.

He further informed the media that a total of 10 accused persons have been arrested in connection with the two cases. He credited the prompt and sustained efforts of the investigating officers for the successful recovery of the stolen and lost property.

Police officials stated that the recovery and return of the valuables to their rightful owners reflect the department’s commitment to protecting citizens’ property and ensuring effective investigation of criminal cases.
