Aug 13 (AIR News/ Agencies): Taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to a new level to mark the 75th Independence Day of India, over 7500 participants on Saturday entered Guinness World Record by creating ‘World's Largest Human Image of a Waving National Flag in Chandigarh cricket stadium.

Punjab Governor and Administrator of UT Chandigarh Banwarilal Purohit was present as a Chief Guest and Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi was Guest of Honour on this memorable occasion.

The volunteers of NID Foundation of Union Territory, 5885 students of Chandigarh University and other schools and colleges created the human formation of the National Flag while more than 25000 citizens gathered to witness the rare moment with a sense of patriotism.

Adviser to the Administrator Dharam Pal, Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh Vinay Pratap Singh, Mayor Sarabjit Kaur, DGP Chandigarh Praveer Ranjan, NID Chief Patron and Chandigarh University Chancellor S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, and other top officials of the UT administration were present.
