Yaba tablets worth Rs. 90 lakh seized in Tripura, two held

Agartala, June 28: In a significant success against the drugs network, Tripura Police arrested two individuals along with 18,000 Yaba tablets on Friday.
The operation, led by SP Bhanupada Chakraborty, took place near Radharaman Ashram in Dharmanagar of North Tripura district. During the raid, the police found the Yaba tablets, valued at Rs. 90 lakh, and detained Thangleon Mani Halam (37) and Realchi Halam (30), who hail from Bagbasa Panchayat area.
The SP North Tripura confirmed that a case has been registered against the duo under the NDPS Act, and they would be forwarded before the court on Saturday. 
This operation is part of the on-going Neshamukt Tripura campaign and the success comes just two days after another major drug haul worth Rs. 2 crore in the same district.
Meanwhile, North Tripura’s Churaibari police, led by OC Samaresh Das, also seized 21 kilograms of ganja from a container vehicle transporting online delivery items. The driver, Ratan Debnath (26) from South Laljhuri in Kanchanpur sub-division, also detained. The market value of the seized ganja is estimated at Rs. 3 lakh.
