Agartala, Sept 30: In a vibrant celebration of cleanliness and sportsmanship, a unique event was organized today at Umakant School as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign.

The event kicked off at 5:00 p.m., featuring a friendly football match between the Agartala Sports School and Umakanta Morning Club, aimed at spreading awareness about cleanliness and hygiene.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as players and spectators alike enjoyed the exhilarating match, all under the inspiring tagline, “Let’s Play Football.” At the end of the match, dignitaries from NEEPCO and players gathered to take the Swachhata Pledge, administered by Shri JL Das, Head of Power Plants, NEEPCO Tripura, in both Bengali and Hindi. This commitment to cleanliness resonated deeply with everyone present.

Following the match, NEEPCO officials honored the winning team with trophies, recognizing their skills and sportsmanship. In another initiative at Mandhai School, the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign saw an engaging three-day umbrella painting competition. Students from classes 6 to 10 showcased their creativity, painting umbrellas with various designs that reflected their understanding of cleanliness and their responsibilities in maintaining a clean environment.

The teachers facilitated this unique project, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness as part of Gandhi's ideology. Each painted umbrella became a vibrant expression of the students’ thoughts on cleanliness, demonstrating their artistic skills and commitment to a cleaner nation.

As a fitting conclusion to the event, students were awarded certificates of participation and tokens of appreciation for their creative efforts. The awards were presented by NEEPCO officials, who acknowledged the significant role of youth in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which continues until October 2nd.
